My idea is about modify an existing “humidor”, that is a special wood box made to store and have care of high quality cigars.
These boxes,in fact, to preserve cigars, have to control humidity and temperature.
My modification consist in implement an electronic sensor (dht11) that acts an humidity and temperature sensing, connected to an arduino with an SD Card shield acting as a data recorder storing humidity and temperature values and managing acoustic and/or visual alarms when one or both of these parameters goes to the warning side. Arduino could be connected to a small fan, that could improve air circulation inside the box, realizing an efficient system to store cigars. From the power supply side, a wireless power module with a lithium battery, realize an efficient, easy and ergonomic system that could be transported for several hours, mantain cigars on the best microclimate to preserve original taste and flavour. As a future feature, especially for big boxes, will be possible add a wifi connection to remote monitor and manage humidor. With adequate battery pack, humidor will store its precious content for several week, in case, for example of very long shipping period. With a wireless charger, it’ll be possible to charge different humidor boxes for different flavour cigars.
