Bluetooth Mouse Upgraded with Wireless Power Kit
Wireless mice are great! Dongle based or Bluetooth, we love them all for the convenience they bring to the table! But it is a great inconvenience when the batteries go dead… specially when we are in the middle of a project or gaming session. There are mice now a day with longer battery life, but we still have to worry about replacing the batteries every now and then.
This is where the Wireless Power Kit (WPK) comes in. We had just the idea to make a wireless charging mousepad for the wireless mice as we first saw the WPK.
Our project consists of Futura Elettronica’s Wireless Power Kit, a standard Bluetooth mouse and a simple mousepad. We implemented the Wireless Power Transmitter in the mousepad and we attached the Wireless Power Receiver, a charger module and a rechargeable Li-Po battery in the Bluetooth mouse and customized the mouse to receive the power from the Wireless Power Received and charge the battery.
This setup enables the mouse to charge the battery in normal operation on the desktop, when the mouse is used on our wireless charging enabled mousepad, and the rechargeable battery provides a power backup of up to a week, if we have to take the mouse elsewhere for some time.
The project is in prototype form for now, and we are sure and it can be implanted as a commercial-grade product using this amazing Wireless Power Kit introduced by Futura Elettronica.
